MCMCH is highlighting several items we are advocating for in Governor Whitmer's FY '25 budget recommendations for the Department of Health and Human Services budget in a new infographic. This infographic is designed to assist advocates in sharing key points around the investments Governor Whitmer has included in her budget recommendation, including the Healthy Moms Healthy Babies initiatives:
- $3.3M to increase reimbursement rates to MIHP providers for additional care management services
- $2M to increase Medicaid reimbursement and $2.9M for doula training and outreach
- $2.5M (in addition to ongoing $5M) to support new/existing site infrastructure for the CenteringPregnancy model
- $5M (in addition to ongoing $5M) to support critical network and local initiatives in the state's Perinatal Quality Collaborative
The reverse side of this infographic highlights additional items that support healthy families and children in the Governor's budget, including:
- $7M gross ($2.5M GF) to increase reimbursement rates for providers in the Vaccines for Children program
- $1.8M ($800K GF) to remove the $10/month MIChild premium
- $13.7M ($4.8M GF) to fund removal of Medicaid birth expenses recovery
- funding for a number of behavioral health investments including expansion of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs)
- $14.2M to support additional family planning local grants
